Time Left to Shape Sacramento’s Future

June 2, 2026

I am running for City Council because District 5 deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and works alongside the community every day. I have lived and worked in South Sacramento for over 30 years, and I know the strength, resilience, and pride that define our neighborhoods. I also understand the challenges families face, from safety concerns to rising housing costs to the struggle to access basic city services. For more than 25 years, I have served the public in roles focused on helping people. At Covered California, the California Student Aid Commission, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, and the Department of Industrial Relations, I have guided thousands of residents through complex state programs, analyzed data to improve services, and worked to ensure people receive fair and timely support. I am fluent in English and Spanish and have spent my career helping diverse communities navigate government systems with dignity and respect. As your councilmember, I will focus on cleaner and safer neighborhoods, more responsive city services, and stronger support for working families, seniors, and youth. I will work every day to make District 5 a place where every resident feels seen and supported.

I’m running this campaign without accepting donations because public service should never be for sale. My decisions will be guided by the needs of our neighborhoods, not by special interests, big checks, or political pressure. I believe independent leadership is the only way to ensure every voice in District 5 carries equal weight — not just those who can afford to give. This campaign is powered by conversations, not contributions, and I’m committed to earning your trust the right way.
